OPC free lunchtime recitals in the City of London on the 4th and 5th of October

The Open Piano Competition's first round is due to take place in London in under a week, on 1st and 2nd of October in Steinway Hall in Marylebone. The international pianists entered in the competition will have the challenging task of convincing the jury they should be chosen to get through to the next round. 

Whilst the opening round of performances takes place behind closed doors, the second round of the competition will be held on 4th and 5th of October in St. Olave's church in the heart of the City of London and is open to the public and the admission is free.

For those of you who are not familiar with the City of London and the ubiquitous classical concerts and recitals held in its stunning churches, please along to listen to the performances on the 4th and 5th of October which form part of St Olave's Lunchtime Recitals.

The public is welcome to come and go in between performances which last a maximum of 25 minutes per competitor and would provide a relaxing cultural break from the stress of the busy offices of the City of London

If the second round will catch your attention and imagination and you are curious to see who the winner of the 2012 Open Piano Competition will be, you are invited to attend the final on the 8th of October in Grosvenor Chapel in Mayfair, doors open at 5:15pm and performances last until 9:30pm, you are welcome again to come and go at any point of the evening in between performances which last a maximum of 35 minutes for each competitor.
